Eid-ul-Adha confirmed- Sunday 6 November, 2011
The Victorian Board of Imams has confirmed the Eid-ul-Adha will be on Sunday 6 November, 2011. The UMMA Centre will be holding a massive Eid prayer at UMMA Centre Doncaster starting at 8.00 am.
In order to manage the traffic at UMMA, UMMA Centre Management is organising the Shuttle Bus to and between Car Parking from 7am to 10 am. All the Brothers are requested to Park their car at the Rieschiecks Reserve (at the corner of Victoria Street and George street).
First Eid-ul-Fitr Prayer in Newly under Construction Hall
Prayer Hall is under construction and was opened for Eid Prayer, UMMA Centre and Management vision and planning to have this Prayer Hall and can be used for the next 5-10 years. Amazingly our First Eid Prayer and UMMA Community’s growth have shown the need of the Larger Prayer Hall to accommodate the growing population of Muslims and community in eastern suburbs of Melbourne. More than 1800 Muslim Community people attended the Eid prayer.
Main prayer Hall and middle area were also filled up with the Muslim community. Sister’s section of the Prayer hall was extended and was noted fill out as well.
After the prayer and Eid Greetings, Food (Halwa Puri, cholla and Semolina) and tea was offered to the community, community enjoyed meeting each other, sharing there Eid happiness, feeling just like they were in the meeting and greeting in their origin/home town.
With the growing number of 1800 people, UMMA Centre management organised the parking placenNear by at the corner of victoria street and george street, where more than 100 cars were parked. with the help of Manningham Council, a shuttle bus was arranged to Pick and Drop people between parking and UMMA Ctr between 7 am -10:00 pm. Local Traffic Police Helped to guide the Traffic in/out of the UMMA Centre and nearby areas. Certainly this was not possible without the proper planning of UMMA Centre management and volunteer brothers who spend enormous amount of time in helping to organise the Eid Prayer and cleaning the place.
UMMA Centre and Management is serving the local Muslim community for the years to come, that is not possible without the collaborative work and support from local community who has been supporting morally and financially for the growth and bringing UMMA Centre at the next level of our vision so as we can continuously support growing community in the eastern suburbs.
