PARKING ARRANGEMENT FOR RAMADAN

FOR TARAVEEH AND ISHA PRAYER ONLY

There is limited parking at UMMA and therefore we are trying to maximise the parking in the facility.

  • Disabled parking – If you have a registered disabled parking vehicle, please also register the vehicle with us so that can try to make parking arrangement for you. To register your vehicle with UMMA, please contact us on 0438 348 274 or secretary@umma.org.au. We can’t guarantee this but we will try our best to see how we can assist.
  • For Isha and Tarawih prayers, parking in the facility is divided into two zones. These zones are attendees who pray either 8 rakat or 20 rakat. Please kindly park in the appropriate zones and follow signs. Our volunteers will be there to guide you. If you need to leave early or you may be on-call, it is best to prefer street car park.

  • Parking will be double parked. This means that a car may be parked behind you making your car blocked. If there is a medical emergency, please inform the volunteers or the imam and we will make arrangements for you or call an Ambulance.
  • If you accidentally park in the 8 rakat and wish to stay for longer, you would need to go and re-park your car accordingly.
  • Safety is extremely important to us. Please don’t be hasty in the car park. There are people walking by in the carpark and a small mistake can easily cause injury or harm to some one else. So we request you to please come early and don’t rush.
  • If you accidentally hit another vehicle, please kindly notify the owner of the other driver or leave your details with UMMA volunteer or on the persons vehicle.
  • Please don’t leave valuables in the vehicle. Although we do have CCTV but there is no-point leaving items un-attended.
  • If you see any suspicious behaviour, please inform us asap. If there is any Active threat – please ring 000.
  • If you are attending a gather in the multi-purpose hall and your guests wish to leave early. Please inform them to leave the parking facility and use street car park before 7.15 pm.
  • Please assist children in crossing the road and don’t take risk.
  • Kindly park appropriately and don’t give local council and police an opportunity to penalise you.

Please note that people are putting themselves and the community at risk if they don’t follow the safety instructions highlighted in this communication.

Please kindly support the UMMA volunteers in administering the rules set out for the premises.

GO GREEN THIS RAMADAN

The Holy Qur’an and Sunnah are a guiding light to promote sustainable development in Islamic countries as well as around the world. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) commands human beings to avoid doing mischief and wasting resources as these acts cause degradation of the environment.

UMMA needs your leadership and support to reduce the use of plastic which gets thrown after one-off use. To reduce use of plastic, we request you to:

  • Use our water stations with re-usable clean glasses.
  • Bring a re-usable water bottle from home.
  • Avoid bringing and donating disposable water bottles.
  • Help us recycle the water bottles at UMMA or take them and dispose them in the recycle bin.

We are looking for your cooperation in the matters highlighted in this communication.

We thank you for your support and corporation. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Jazakallah khairan
Mustapha Sayyad | Secretary, UMMA Center.
