Level 1 intake

Understand, communicate and grow

Abjad is a comprehensive Arabic program designed to help students understand the Qur’an and Islamic texts while developing speaking, reading, writing, listening, vocabulary, and Nahw/Sarf skills.

  • Structure: 8 levels, with one level per term
  • Classes: Small, focused groups with weekly 2-hour lessons and one-to-one practice
  • Brothers: Sundays, 10:00 am–12:30 pm
  • Sisters: Mondays, 6:30 pm–9:00 pm
  • Cost: $150 per term
  • Duration: Approximately 10 weeks per term
  • Venue: Fully in-person at UMMA Centre
Entry requirement This intake is for Level 1 students who can recite the Qur’an and recognise the Arabic alphabet. Applicants will be assessed before a place is offered. Places are limited.

The commencement date will be communicated directly to successful applicants.

UMMA Saturday School 2026

A steady Islamic foundation, every Saturday

Classes run from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at UMMA Centre for boys and girls from Prep to Year 12, with Imam Shaykh Nazeer Abdulla supporting and teaching the program.

Returning-student enrolment requires the access code supplied by the school. New students can use the separate registration path below. Both TryBooking listings are currently at capacity, so the official widgets provide the relevant waitlist option.

Weekly sport and recreation

Regular activities help brothers, sisters and young people stay active, build friendships and remain connected to the masjid. Join the relevant WhatsApp group to confirm each week's session.

Weekly basketball

7:00 pm–9:00 pm · Brothers 15+ · $5 per night. Casual half-court games are open to all skill levels.

5:00 pm–7:00 pm · Boys 9–15 · $5 per night. Games currently focus mainly on soccer; parents are welcome to supervise.
